Ghana Premier League side Accra Hearts of Oak have denied reports suggesting there is a conflict between the club’s management and players over unpaid salaries.
Reports circulating in sections of the local media had claimed that the club owed players several months of salaries, with suggestions that the situation had affected the team’s confidence and performances in recent matches.
However, the club has rejected those claims in an official statement, insisting that the situation has been misrepresented having explained that the recent meeting between management and the players was simply a routine engagement meant to address internal matters.
According to the statement, the discussion has been blown out of proportion by some media outlets who reported that the meeting turned heated. The club maintains that there is no dispute between management and the playing body.
Meanwhile, Hearts of Oak are currently going through a difficult run of form, having gone three matches without a win in the Ghana Premier League.
Despite the recent struggles, the Phobians remain fourth on the league table with 41 points and will look to return to winning ways when they travel to face Heart of Lions in their next league fixture.
