The Phobians have strengthened their coaching department with the arrival of an experienced tactician from Medeama SC.
Ghana Premier League heavyweights Accra Hearts of Oak have announced the appointment of Nana Yaw Amankwah as the club's new assistant coach ahead of the 2024–25 season's campaign.
Ivorian coach Aboubakar Ouattara will be deputized in the upcoming season by Nana Yaw Amankwah and Abdul Rahim Bashiru, the latter of whom has been part of the Hearts of Oak's technical team since last season.
The club's official statement reads: “We are thrilled to introduce Nana Yaw Amankwah as our new assistant coach.”
“Looking forward to his expertise and the positive energy he brings to our team.”
After escaping relegation to the Division One League last season, the top hierarchy of Hearts of Oak has decided to beef up all departments in the yet-to-start season, and the arrival of Nana Yaw Amankwah is one of the club's key decisions.
What Nana Yaw Amankwah brings to the Hearts of Oak team
Amankwah has rich experience in the local scene, having worked as an assistant coach for Bibiani Gold Stars SC and Medeama SC.
His leadership qualities, ethos, tactical approach, and commitment to developing youngsters will be vital for Hearts of Oak.
Amankwah was instrumental in Medeama SC's historic campaign in the CAF Champions League, in which the club reached the group stage.
