Players of Hearts of Oak have voiced concerns over unpaid salaries and poor working conditions during an emergency meeting with club management at the team’s base in Kpobiman.
The meeting came after the team went three league matches without a win in the Ghana Premier League, leaving them behind in the title race.
Players told management that outstanding wages have affected their morale. Some said the delays have made it hard to cover personal expenses, including utility bills and waste disposal fees at the club house.
They also raised issues over a promised double bonus for the Super Clash against rivals Asante Kotoko, which has not yet been paid.
Concerns were also shared about criticism and insults from some supporters following the recent poor results. The squad further highlighted problems with playing home games at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium, describing the pitch as hard and unsuitable for football.
Club officials, including managing director Julius Emunah and board member Alhaji Akambi, assured players that their concerns would be addressed.
Hearts of Oak travel to Kpando to take on Heart of Lions in Matchweek 26, as they aim to get back to winning ways.
