Head coach of Hearts of Oak, Martin Koopman has disclosed that, the club's recent goal-scoring drought isn't his problem but rather is a national issue that has to be dealt with.
He made these statements following the 'Phobians' inability to end their recent winless run after once again playing out a goalless draw with FC Samartex in Ghana Premier League match-day six on Saturday afternoon.
The Rainbow Club have been very abysmal especially with goal scoring, having gone three games without scoring and have netted just one in their first five matches- and that was Kashala Ramos strike against Nsoatreman FC in match-day 2.
Speaking in post-match presser, the Dutch tactician has stated no one should label blames on him on the club's recent goal drought and added it is rather a national problem and is even with the senior national team- the Black Stars.
"I'm not the problem here; it's a national issue. Even the Black Stars don't have wingers and strikers to score goals", he told the media
"Ghanaian players like holding onto the ball too much, and they need to develop." He added
Hearts of Oak will play as guests to Bibiani Goldstars in the next round of matches on Sunday, October 29, 2023.
