Asante Kotoko head coach Karim Zito says he remains confident in his team’s ability to challenge for the Ghana Premier League title despite their disappointing 1-0 defeat to Hohoe United on Sunday.
The Porcupine Warriors were left frustrated at the Hohoe Sports Stadium after conceding from a brilliant free-kick in the first half—a goal that ultimately decided the match. The defeat extended Kotoko’s winless run to four league games and intensified pressure from supporters hoping to see a turnaround.
Speaking after the match, Zito insisted that although the performance fell short of expectations, their title ambitions are still very much alive.
“I haven’t lost hope of winning the league, and we will bounce back stronger,” the Kotoko coach declared.
Kotoko have struggled to find consistency in recent weeks, managing just one win in their last seven league outings. Despite the dip in form, the club remains within reach of the top of the table, sitting on 21 points—five behind leaders Medeama SC.
Kotoko will aim to end their poor run when they host Dreams FC next weekend at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
