Asante Kotoko head coach Karim Zito has apologised to the club’s supporters following their disappointing defeat to newly promoted Hohoe United on Sunday, a result that deepened the team’s worrying dip in form.

The Porcupine Warriors slipped to their second defeat of the season, continuing a run that has raised growing concerns among fans. In his post-match interview, Zito openly admitted that Kotoko’s slow start played a major role in the outcome.

“We didn’t play well in the first half, and I’m not happy about that. That is why I want to apologise to the fans. We are sorry, and we promise to make the necessary amendments,” he said.

Despite the frustration surrounding the team, the experienced coach insists he has not lost faith in Kotoko’s title aspirations.

“I haven’t lost hope of winning the league, and we will bounce back stronger,” he assured.

Kotoko’s recent record reflects their struggles. In their last seven matches, the Reds have managed only one victory, drawing four and losing two. They are currently without a win in their last four league games, signalling a concerning drop in momentum at a critical point in the campaign.

The Porcupine Warriors sit third on the Ghana Premier League table with 21 points, five behind leaders Medeama SC. With plenty of matches still to come, Zito believes his side can revive their title push if they quickly correct their flaws.

Kotoko now face mounting pressure to respond in their next fixture against Dreams FC, where fans will be expecting a strong and decisive reaction. While Zito’s public apology may ease tensions for now, it is the results on the pitch that will determine Kotoko’s direction in the title race.
