Former Asante Kotoko coach Karim Zito has stressed that he holds no ill will toward the club following his departure.
Zito, who replaced Prosper Narteh Ogum midway through last season, stepped down after Kotoko were knocked out of the FA Cup in a penalty shootout by Aduana FC, ending a run of just one win in six matches under his guidance.
Speaking to Kessben FM, Zito reflected on his time at the club:
“I left Asante Kotoko without any grudge. Not even being stabbed in the line of duty by bandits could sour me on the club. Coaches will always come and go. It is normal, so no hard feelings at all.”
During his tenure, Zito led Kotoko to victories in multiple competitions, including the FA Cup, President’s Cup, Champion of Champions, and Toyota Cup.
He has since taken on a new challenge as head coach of Division One side AshantiGold, aiming to continue his coaching journey in Ghanaian football.
