Former Hearts of Oak defender, Ibrahim Larry Sumaila, has made a bold claim about his time at the club, stating that he is one of the most successful players in the club's history.
Sumaila, who joined the Phobians from PAOK FC in 2019 and spent four seasons before leaving, reflected on his time at the club and boasted an impressive trophy haul.
"My time at Hearts of Oak was excellent," Sumaila said in an interview with Ghanasportspage.com. "I won everything there. Hearts of Oak had not won any title for 10 years before my arrival, but God being so good, we won the Homowo Cup in my second year and lost the President Cup to Kotoko. The following year we won the league title, the Super Cup as well as the President Cup, we won four trophies in a season and the FA Cup the following year, so my journey at Hearts of Oak has been one of the most successful."
The former defender also highlighted his individual achievements, stating that he has won every major trophy in Ghana during his career.
"When we talk about one player who has been successful in his career in terms of trophies, I am very much satisfied with my trophies in Ghana," Sumaila said. "I've won it all. I've won the Super Cup, The league title, President Cup as well as back-to-back FA Cup titles."
Sumaila's impressive trophy haul during his time at Hearts of Oak includes multiple titles, including the MTN FA Cups, Ghana Super Cup, Ghana Premier League, and the President's Cup under Samuel Boadu.
