Following a successful campaign that ensured their place in the top-flight for the upcoming 2023/2024 season, Karela United is planning a squad overhaul during the summer transfer window.

Head coach Shaibu Ibrahim Tanko is determined to bring in higher-caliber players to strengthen their challenge in the Ghana Premier League.

Reports suggest that Karela United has targeted Kotoku Royals midfielder Prince Kwame Dogbe and Ali Mohammed of Tamale City for the summer transfer window. Both players are eager to secure a move after their respective clubs were relegated to the second tier of Ghanaian football.

However, in order to make room for new signings like Prince Dogbe and Ali Mohammed, Shaibu Tanko will have to offload several players during the Domestic transfer window. Daniel Kwofie Paha's performances have confirmed to Tanko that the former Samartex FC midfielder needs to be moved on, while Joseph Dinku's inconsistency has convinced the Karela boss that he cannot be relied upon.

Even the longest-serving player, Kodwo Addae, and his deputy, Kwaku Osei, are under threat as Tanko considers parting ways with the captain and his deputy, whose contracts are set to expire. Goalkeeper Emmanuel Essandoh is also in jeopardy as Tanko looks to rebuild the squad he inherited after Bismark Kobi-Mensah's departure.

Additionally, Karela United is set to release several players, including Prince Asempa, Enock Ablenyo, Salim Illiasu, Emmanuel Anaful, and Philip Flamini, who are either surplus to requirements or will be out of contract.

Loan signing Evans Adomako Wiredu, who had an impressive season with the Aiyinasi-based club, has returned to his parent club, Asante Kotoko.
