Swedru All Blacks head coach Kassim Mingle Ocansey has criticised his players after they let a two-goal lead slip in a 2-2 draw with Hearts of Oak in the Ghana Premier League.

The Matchweek 27 game at the Accra Sports Stadium saw All Blacks make a strong start as they handed an hefty surprise package to their opponents with two first-half goals to take control of the game before the break.

But mistakes in the second half proved costly, as Hearts of Oak fought back to score twice through Mawuli Wayo (59th minute) and Frank Abora Duku (74th minute) to earn a point.

Speaking after the match, Ocansey said he was unhappy with how his team handled the situation, especially the errors that led to both goals.

“It was a good game, but I’m disappointed in my boys,” he said. “To take a two-goal commanding lead, and we gifted them two goals, which is not good.”
He pointed to poor defending from a set-piece and a mistake by a substitute as key moments in the game.

“A corner kick, and all of you move away and leave the second pole,” he explained. “A substitute you come in, they give you a pass, and you pass it to the opponent, and they score. I’m disappointed.”

The result leaves Hearts of Oak in fourth place on the league table with 43 points. They are now six points behind leaders Medeama SC with eight matches left to play this season.
