The Porcupine Warriors have won a record-extending 24th Premier League title after holding AshantiGold SC to a one-all draw in a match-week 29 outstanding fixture on Thursday evening.

Asante Kotoko have clinched the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League title after a 1-1 away draw with their regional rivals AshantiGold SC at the Len Clay Stadium in Obuasi.

AshantiGold SC looked poised in the first twenty minutes of the fixture as they staged an intense pressure on the visitors to concede before the quarters after a defensive blunder from Andrews Appau.
 
On the 10th minute, In-form Yaw Annor capitalized on a defensive blunder of Asante Kotoko centre-back Andrews Appau to open the score for AshantiGold SC with a brilliant strike.
 
The home side was forced to make an early substitution after Appiah McCarthy had picked a knee injury which got him replaced by Dauda Seidu after enjoying only 16 minutes.
 
Asante Kotoko came close through Georges Mfegue Omgba with a drive on the 32nd minute but his effort was brilliantly fisted out by Dennis Votere after an earlier attempt from Franck Mbella was blocked by the Frank Akoto.
 
AshantiGold SC gained possession to dominate the game once again as Kamaradini Mamudu nearly doubled the lead via a free-kick on 35th minute but his effort was denied by the woodwork.
 
Midfield gem Stephen Banahene fired via a rebound from Mamudu's free-kick but his strike was fisted out to corner by goalkeeper Danlad Ibrahim.
 
Coach Ogum made a tactical substitution to replace Evans Adomako with Emmanuel Keyekeh in the 40th minute of the game.
 
AshantiGold SC were wasteful in the last five minutes of the first half as Kofi Nkrumah and Yaw Annor squandered a goal glaring opportunities. 
 
The first half ended in a 1-0 home win for AshantiGold SC courtesy an early goal from Yaw Annor.
 
Back from the break, AshantiGold continued their impressive performance but they were unlucky upfront to run riot at the Len Clay Stadium.
 
Defender Maxwell Agyemang levelled the score with a powerful header via a brilliant free-kick delivered by Imoro Ibrahim on the 67th minute of the game.
 
Asante Kotoko will be battling out with Great Olympics, Elmina Sharks and Accra Lions in their last three remaining matches to climax their 2021/22 Ghana Premier League campaign.
