We are entering the last ten (10) of this season's premier league with some clubs fighting for their faith to maintain top-flight football next season.
Kickgh.com is here again to talk about the salient points that were picked from the midweek fixtures in match week twenty (20).
The points;
The biggest point to be talked about in this week's games will be the annihilation Kumasi Asante Kotoko received in the hands of Ebusua Dwarfs at the Robert Mensah Sports Stadium in Cape Coast.
It came as a surprise to all followers of the games, even to Hearts of Oak fans who always want to see the porcupine warriors lose their games, how Dwarfs were able to wallop potential league winners, Asante Kotoko, by that number of goals.
Many predicted the "abontuabontua" club to win the day but to beat Kumasi Asante Kotoko by four goals to one was never telling, coming from what has already ensued for both clubs in their respective games in the league so far.
It could either be that, the "kum apem" lads were tactically inept in all department of the game of which Dwarfs "mysteriously" capitalized on to punished them, or that the Cape Coast giants came in with much determination to replicate their performance against Kotoko in 1963 which they triumphed by the same margin of goals.
Having had that starling victory in match week twenty (20), could that be the turning point for Dwarfs to save their season or be a learning curve for Kotoko as they approach week twenty-one to play Accra Hearts of Oak in Kumasi?
Again, it was a week that saw second half substitutions determining games for clubs as goals where difficult to come by in the first half.
In Accra, Kwame Kizito came on for Samudeen Ibrahim to get the vital touch that sealed the game for Accra Hearts of Oak against Berekum Chelsea that stretched the "phobia" boys to the dying embers of the game before getting the match winner.
In a difficult game, Amos Frimpong came from the bench to get a cushion for Kumasi Asante Kotoko in their "forgettable" game against Mysterious Ebusua Dwarfs in Cape Coast when they were down by four goals to nil.
Aminu Mohammed was there to punish his former club, Ashanti gold at the Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park when his side, Bechem United were down by a goal to nil, kind courtey Amos Addae.
He came on as a substitute to get the equalizer for Bechem United.
Finally, attendance at our league centers is gradually filling up since the start of the second round of the league.
Appreciable number of fans visited various stadia to watch games even though it was a weekend fixtures.
Venues like the Robert Mensah in Cape Coast between Ebusua Dwarfs and Kumasi Asante Kotoko had stands filled to capacity.
Same as the Gyamfi Park in Bekwai between New Edubiase and Sekondi Hasaacas. We hope it continues like that till the season ends.
