Nations FC head coach, Kassim Ocansey Mingle has admitted kicking off the new season against his former club Bechem United and will be a very difficult game but will have to embrace the challenge that is up in early September.  

The Eagles had a very decent campaign in their debut topflight season and managed a seventh-place finish with forty-nine points- picking fourteen wins, seven draws and thirteen loses in thirty-four matches. 

The Sky Blues are looking to improve and strengthen their squad ahead of the new season as they look to deliver an improved performance compared to what they had in their first.

Coach Kassim Ocansey Mingle has made six signings so far; Michael Abrokwa, Andrews Cobbinah, Yussif Alhassan Chibsah, William Apenteng, youngster Mashud Abdela and Ivorian international Bi Boris Djangone and will definitely make some few more additions before the transfer window shuts down.

Speaking ahead of their season opener, the experienced tactician said their target is to exceed their last season performance. 

"Starting against Bechem United will obviously be a tough start but we have to be ready for any opponent," Mingle said in an interview with the club's website."

"The league is in a way that it doesn’t matter who you play first or last. The most important thing for us is that we have to make sure we improve on last season’s performance,” he added.

Nations FC's first day from the long break begun this morning with all players including the new captures present and engaged in some gym exercises looking to build themselves physically before getting onto the pitch for ball works and other activities.

Subsequent intensive training sessions will continue from now henceforth including high-profile friendly matches to constantly test themselves ahead of the new season.

Nations FC are currently partaking in the Nsenkyire Cup and will start with Legon Cities FC this afternoon in Samreboi.
