Christopher Ennin — FC Samartex head coach describes the game against regional rivals Medeama SC over the weekend as a great game but didn’t like the reaction of his players after scoring especially in the final moments.
The Timber Giants nearly handed the Mauves and Yellows their first home defeat of the season but unfortunately it finished 1-1 after full-time in what was a very thrilling match day six fixture.
Awuah Dramani scored a Puskas-like goal having struck from the center-half of the pitch straight into the net in the 39th minute to put FC Samartex ahead.
However, with just a minute plus additional time to wrap things up, Medeama SC finally got the equalizer courtesy Kingsley Braye who arrived late in the box to tap in from a close range after a huge scramble.
In a post-game interview, the 43-year-old tactician feels it was a good game in general but added they would have come out victorious if his players had not los concentration and their pattern of play to result to only defending at certain point.
“It’s quite a good game but unfortunately we gave the game away. We just have go out and work on how to deal with pressure in away games. We conceded due to lack of concentration.
“It’s one of the fantastic goals I’ve seen. We came in to hold and hit them on encounter and that really worked perfectly for us.”
FC Samartex have how dropped to the sixth spot with ten points in the standing and will host newbies Hohoe United next at the Nsenkyire Sports Complex.
