Asante Kotoko midfielder Andrews Ntim Manu has expressed his disappointment following Wednesday's unexpected 2-1 defeat to Legon Cities in the Ghana Premier League.
Entering the match unbeaten and as favorites, Kotoko faced a Legon Cities side still seeking their first win of the season. However, the game at the University of Ghana Stadium in Legon took an unexpected turn, culminating in an upset for the Porcupine Warriors.
Despite struggling to find their rhythm, Kotoko managed to equalize in the 76th minute through Albert Amoah after falling behind in the first half. Unfortunately for Kotoko, Legon Cities regained the lead in stoppage time when Abdul Rahman scored, sealing the victory for the home side.
Reflecting on the setback, Manu stated, "The defeat hurts because we had our moments and failed to utilize them. We now have to recover quickly and focus on our next game, which is the most important."
Despite the loss, Kotoko remains in a strong position in the league, currently sitting second with 15 points. The Porcupine Warriors will aim to bounce back as they host Hearts of Lions on November 3, seeking to return to winning form and keep their title hopes alive.
