Asante Kotoko number two David Ocloo, despite getting themselves back on winning ways, has professed Bibiani Goldstars gave them a very difficult game and were by far the better side in the second half.
The Porcupine Warriors got themselves back on track with a crucial 1-0 win over the Miners at the Baba Yara Stadium last Friday evening in the opening fixture of Ghana Premier League match-day 19.
Despite proving to be the superior side in the first department with lots of goal incursions made, it took them 46 minutes to find the back of the net through youngster Peter Acquah Amidu and that was enough to hand the Reds all three points.
The win means the 'Kum Apem' lads have now climbed up to the second position on the table with 32 points from nine wins, five draws and five defeats.
On StarTimes after the game, the assistant coach feels the game at some point became very tough and there was pressure but getting the three points was the most crucial thing and that's exactly what they did.
"I said we were going to do everything to get a descent results in the game and that's exactly what we did. I think we were on top in the first half, we dominated the game. The boys played to our game plan, the structure was good but Goldstars came in hard in the second half but the most important thing is the three points and we got it."
Asante Kotoko will travel up north, to Nalerigu precisely to take on Karela United in match-day 20 of the ongoing GPL season.
