Asante Kotoko were in action last Sunday in match-week 30 of the Ghana Premier League where they shared spoils with Bibiani Goldstars in an epic tie at the Baba Yara Stadium.
Solomon Sarfo Taylor opened the scoring account after just five minutes from kickoff but was subsequently cancelled by Abednego Tetteh's header in the last ten minutes to split the points.
Attendance in the game was very low with majority part of the seats at the stadium very empty, and reports suggested only 709 fans purchased the e-ticketing for the game.
In an interview with Akoma FM, the Vice Chairman of Kotoko's National Chapters Committee (NCC), Obeng Sekyere has lashed out at the poor attitude of their players towards matches and added they don't have quality in the current squad, reason supporters don't get turned on by the team's performance to always come and rally behind the team.
"The problem is that our player's attitudes is poor and on the day they seem not to be committed. Clearly, supporters will not be happy should we continue playing like this. Such performances turn more supporters away.
"The quality of our team is low, supporters want to see quality players and I will advise that we must pay critical attention to our recruitment process in the coming season. Anything apart from that will drive more supporters away from attending our matches.
"When you are in the stands, you hear the fans voicing out their frustrations that the boys are not good enough to wear the Kotoko jersey. The lack of results confirms their assertion.
"Gone are the days when you see certain players taking responsibility and driving the team forward but in this team you can't find one. We should strengthen the quality of our team especially our midfield and the defense in the coming season."
The draw has seen Kotoko dropped to sixth on the log with 44 points, six behind the leaders and will have to play their hearts out in their remaining matches to remain in the race or make a top four finish.
