Tamale City assistant coach, Hamza Mohammed bemoans lack of enough time to prepare after qualifying for the Ghana Premier League (GPL).
Tamale City won a three-way play-off to replace Ashanti Gold in the GPL.
Ashanti Gold were demoted into the Division Two after been found guilty of match manipulations.
Tamale City qualified with just some weeks to the start of the 2022/23 season.
Tamale City lost to Karela United at the CAM Park courtesy Samuel Atta Kumi's strike.
Hamza Mohammed says they thought the GFA will grant them some dispensation to prepare for the season.
"Because we qualified late, we didn’t get enough time to prepare and that’s affecting us," he told Union FM.
“We were thinking GFA will give us some special dispensation to prepare adequately, but they did not.
“We were not satisfied with our preparations prior to the league but we won’t dwell on that and fail," he added.
Tamale City will host Legon Cities this weekend at the Aliu Mahama Stadium.
