Ghana Premier League side Nations FC have announced Michael Abrokwa as their second signing in the just-opened summer transfer window.
Asante Kotoko have agreed personal terms with Great Olympics attacker Albert Amoah, according to reports, and are now drilling out the tactics of a potential transfer in the coming days.
Ghanaian defender Michael Abrokwa has officially joined Nations Football Club.
The versatile player completed his transfer from lower-division side Skyy FC on Thursday, July 18, after successfully passing a mandatory medical examination.
Nations FC welcomed Abrokwa via their social media channels: "We are thrilled to welcome defender Michael Abrokwa to Nations FC! After a successful medical assessment, Michael joins us from Skyy FC. Welcome, Michael Abrokwa," the club announced in a post on X.
Abrokwa is the second player to transfer from Skyy FC to Nations FC within 24 hours. On Wednesday, Andrews Cobbinah also signed with the Ghana Premier League club from Skyy FC.
The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has announced that the fixtures for the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League will be released on July 29, 2024. A total of 306 matches will be detailed on the GFA website and other platforms.
These fixtures will outline the 34 matches each team will play in the upcoming season, helping clubs to plan accordingly.
The new Premier League season is set to kick off on September 6, 2024. Fans are eagerly anticipating the new campaign, with hopes ranging from winning the title and qualifying for African competitions to simply maintaining Premier League status.
Vincent Sowah Odotei, a Board Member of Hearts of Oak, has revealed that the club is conducting an in-depth review of their performance from the previous season. The Phobian Club narrowly escaped relegation by clinching a dramatic 3-2 victory over Bechem United on the final day of the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League season. Their struggles persisted with a 2-1 defeat to Asante Kotoko in the inaugural Democracy Cup at Accra Sports Stadium.
In an interview with Akoma FM in Kumasi, Mr. Odotei emphasized that the club is carefully assessing their shortcomings as they prepare for the new season.
"We continue to review things, and I am confident that given the calibre of people on the board, we will bounce back strongly," he said.
"We will soon announce our new signings. We are putting things together to ensure that we make the best decisions for the club. Hearts of Oak are always supposed to win, so we will go back to the drawing board and ensure that we do what is necessary to make us more competitive for the following season," he added.
Meanwhile, the Ghana Football Association (GFA) has confirmed that the 2024/25 Ghana football season will commence on September 6.
