Those in charge of recruitment at the Signal Iduna Park have reportedly joined the queue over the pursuit of the talented teenager of lvorian heritage in a bid to secure his signature from their elite division rivals in the summer
Borussia Dortmund have joined the race to sign German-born lvorian teenage defender Karim Coulibaly from Bundesliga adversaries Werder Bremen, a report from the German media has stated.

The 18-year-old, who has been sensational for Die Werderaner since being drafted into the first-team this term, is destined to sever ties with his parent club given the incessant interest from suitors across Europe, with elite division top guns including Chelsea, PSG, Newcastle United, Napoli and Marseille all being credited with a move for his services ahead of the summer transfer window.
According to German tabloid BILD, Die Borussen have also lined up for the signature of the centre-back and could become his likely destination given his quest to remain in the Bundesliga beyond the 2026-27 season, with Dortmund boasting of an excellent pedigree in nurturing young talents to reach their full potential.
Head of First Team Football Peter Niemeyer recently confirmed clubs interest in the services of their prized jewel to Kicker: ''We are aware that there is movement regarding this player (Karim Coulibaly), but there is currently no indication of what the next steps might be or whether it will happen as early as this summer. It's obvious that a player with this profile would attract a lot of interest and attention.''

With his glaring potential as a promising budding star, those vying for his signature are to splash a fee of €40-45 million on his head if they are to land him in the summer.
Coulibaly has so far witnessed 24 appearances by scoring once for Werder Bremen across all competitions in this current 2025-26 football season.
Given his lvorian heritage, the Oldenburg-born centre-back still remains fit to play for the Cote d'Ivoire national football team on the international stage after playing for the Germany national youth teams.
