Few days after the end of the 34th edition of the African Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Ivory Coast, news emanating from the camp of the Nzalang Nacional of Equatorial Guinea indicates that the tournament's Golden Boot winner Emilio Nsue has been suspended indefinitely.

The CF Intercity forward, who's also the all-time top scorer of Equatorial Guinea was suspended alongside Iván Salvador (widely known as Edu).

The duo were alleged to have put up improper conduct and exhibited indiscipline to the detriment of the team during the competition.

Edu Salvador was involved in an incident that occurred on January 29th in Abidjan, which required the intervention of the local police.

The incident caused a delay in the team’s return to Equatorial Guinea, leading to soiling of the reputation of the national team and the country as a whole.

The Equatorial Guinean Football Federation, through a press release, stressed the need to maintain discipline within the national team and preserve the positive image of Equatorial Guinea in the world of African football.
