Ghana Football Association President and CAF Vice President Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku joined top football officials, including CAF President Dr Patrice Motsepe and FIFA President Gianni Infantino, on a strategic visit to the FIFA Regional Office for Africa in Rabat on Monday.
The visit came a day after the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations kicked off on Sunday, December 21, at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium, with hosts Morocco facing Comoros in front of a sold-out crowd following an elaborate opening ceremony.

High-level discussions focused on accelerating football development across Africa, covering governance reforms, youth and grassroots programmes, infrastructure development and the effective use of FIFA Forward initiatives.
Okraku’s presence highlighted Ghana’s growing influence within CAF and its alignment with global football governance, with the GFA president continuing to advocate transparent administration, capacity building and sustainable growth.

Dr Motsepe reaffirmed CAF’s commitment to close collaboration with FIFA and member associations, while Infantino praised CAF’s organisational progress and restated FIFA’s support for Africa’s football development agenda.
With AFCON 2025 currently underway, featuring 24 nations, runs until January 18, 2026.
