Sudan national team coach Kwesi Appiah has charged Ghana to develop resilience and bounce back after failing to qualify for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament.
With Sudan gearing up for a return to continental football and the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament.
Coach Kwesi Appiah, who has been at the helm of the team’s success speaking to CAF casted his mind back on how he felt after eliminating his country of birth during the qualifiers.
"When the draw placed Ghana in our group, I did several interviews where I said I hoped both Ghana and Sudan would qualify. It’s unfortunate Ghana couldn’t make it.
"As a Ghanaian, I’m not happy about that, but football has evolved, and every country needs to prepare well for competitions. I hope Ghana learns from this and comes back stronger in future tournaments."
The qualification of the Falcons of Jediane is their first since 2012, as they made a return to the continental showpiece for a nation that last won the Afcon in 1970 when they hosted the tournament, with Ghana finishing as runners-up.
