Former Ghana youth international, Najeeb Yakubu has labelled some wild allegations on current Ghana FA President Kurt Okraku and is somehow insinuating his actions led him to switch nationality from Ghana.
The 24-year-old is a Ghanaian-born of Nigerien parentage but currently represents Niger at national level
Najeeb, was part of the Black Starlets squad at the 2017 U-17 Africa Championship and also the FIFA World Cup - where he had fantastic tournaments in Gabon and India respectively.
However, he never had a senior national team invitation despite playing regularly for Ukrainian topflight side Vorskla Poltava and ended up switching nationality to play for Niger - where he's been playing since 2022.
Recently, he starred very well in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations even though they failed to qualify and also flourished in both games against Ghana.
Speaking on Joy Sports, the lanky lateral was very blunt and accused the GFA boss of being the reason he couldn't get international call ups subsequently after his U-17 spell and this is because he refused to join his club and agency couple of years ago.
"When I was in the Under 17, he [Kurt Okraku] wanted me to join his team, Dreams FC but unfortunately I couldn't join and he took it personal."
"I think it's the GFA President who took out my passport from the U23 squad that travelled to Japan in 2021 for the friendlies. I think he had a personal problem with me."
Najeeb Yakubu currently plies his trade with Kosovan topflight side FC Prishtina.
