Italian-based Ghanaian international, Alfred Duncan has given a voice on the series of racial abuses they face when playing football and feels it's still hiking and that much education has to be given to curb things.

Racism has been a major problem in football for a very long time now, with black-skinned players always being the major victims on many occasions.

There has been sanctions, fines metered on people involved, being it a footballer or a supporter but still continues with many believing the punishments given ain't strong enough.

The latest player to speak on the said issue is experienced Alfred Duncan who has played in the Serie A for quiet a very long time.

He admitted it still exists and is becoming even worse and that, those abusing people racially will have to be taken through massive education process on such stuffs before it can gradually eradicate from the game.

"There has always been racism between players on the pitch, but you don’t hear it because unfortunately, we don’t wear microphones,” said the midfielder.

“The way I see it, it’s not just saying insulting words that make me understand if someone is really racist, it’s the way they say it and when they say it. When certain things happen between players, it is annoying, but over the years I learned not to react.

“Those who are in the stands paid to see me play and I again learned not to react, because it’s ultimately pointless. The less we talk about them, the better.”

"I have been playing for many years and I keep saying the same things,” added the 30-year-old.

“Playing away games, when the bus arrives at the stadium, you see the opposition supporters, even with children in their arms, making certain gestures. The kids just learn to copy their parents, grow up and do the same things with their kids. Until there is more education around these matters, it will continue like this", Duncan ended

The 30-year-old has started the ongoing season on a blistering note, having scored one and provided three assists in eleven appearances so far for ACF Fiorentina in the Serie A.

He was in action over the weekend when they lost narrowly to AC Milan in San Siro and will also expect another starting berth when they host Belgian side KRC Genk in the Europa Conference League on Thursday.
