Belgian top-flight side Club Brugge has confirmed the termination of Ghanaian midfielder Kamal Sowah's contract, making him a free agent available to negotiate with potential suitors.

Sowah, 25, has struggled for game time this season and did not feature in the first half of the campaign.

In a statement on Thursday, the club announced the mutual agreement, stating, “Kamal Sowah and Club Brugge have agreed to terminate their contract by mutual consent today.”

The Ghanaian joined Club Brugge in 2021 from English Premier League side Leicester City following an impressive loan stint at Belgian club OH Leuven.

During his time with Club Brugge, Sowah made 53 appearances across all competitions, registering two goals and five assists.

He was part of the squad that won the Jupiler Pro League in the 2021-22 season and the Belgian Super Cup in 2022.

Sowah also spent the 2023-24 season on loan at Standard Liège, contributing two goals in the Belgian Pro League.

Additionally, he had a brief loan spell with Dutch club AZ Alkmaar during the 2021-22 season, making eight appearances.

A product of the Right to Dream Academy, Sowah has one cap for the Ghana national team and is now set to explore new opportunities following his departure from Club Brugge.
