Black Stars coach Otto Addo continues European scouting tour with France stop

Ghana coach Otto Addo made a stop in France over the weekend as part of his ongoing European monitoring tour, with Kojo Oppong Peprah and Salis Abdul Samed among the players under his watch.

The Black Stars boss was at the Allianz Riviera to witness OGC Nice’s Ligue 1 opener against Toulouse, a match that featured two Ghanaian players.

Peprah, 21, was deployed in a three-man defence for Nice and played the full 90 minutes, while midfielder Salis Samed came off the bench in the second half. Nice, however, slipped to a 1-0 home defeat.

Addo was said to be impressed with Peprah’s composure at the back and continues to keep tabs on Samed, who has been battling fitness setbacks after establishing himself in the national team.

Before heading to Nice, Addo also visited Monaco where he held private talks with defender Mohammed Salisu about his future in Ligue 1.

The trip forms part of his broader assessment mission across Europe, where he has already tracked Ghanaian players in Belgium, Denmark and Spain ahead of September’s World Cup qualifiers against Chad and Mali.

Ghana sit top of Group I in the African qualifiers, and Addo is expected to name his squad for the double-header in the coming days.
