Saudi Arabian powerhouse Al Ittihad have reportedly made a shock move to secure the signature of Ghana international Kudus Mohammed from Ajax in the ongoing summer transfer window.
The 23-year-old has been a top transfer target for several clubs across Europe in this window and it was reported on Wednesday that English Premier League side West Ham United are on the verge of completing his acquisition.
However, the latest news suggest that Saudi Pro League side Al Ittihad have entered the race for the possible signing of the former FC Nordsjaelland talismanic attacker to bolster their squad list after the arrival of Karim Benzema, Ngolo Kante and others.
Premier League trio Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea were among other clubs to have registered an interest in Kudus earlier in this summer's transfer window. Brighton & Hove Albion also reached an agreement in principle to sign Kudus earlier this month.
Kudus Mohammed is expected to make his last appearance for Ajax against PFC Ludogorets Razgrad in the UEFA Europa League on Thursday.
The Ghana international has spent three seasons in Amsterdam, scoring 16 goals in 63 Eredivisie matches.
He has also scored seven goals in 24 appearances for Ghana including two in the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
