The English top-flight duo have reportedly positioned themselves to pounce on the 22-year-old wideman by luring his signature from the relegation-threatened lowly division side in the next transfer window

Premier League duo Everton and Sunderland are set to reignite their interest in signing Ghana international winger Abdul Fatawu from Championship side Leicester in the summer, an emerging report has indicated.

The youngster has established himself as a central figure at the King Power Stadium since linking up with the Foxes from Portuguese outfit Sporting CP in the summer of 2024.

With the everlasting interest from suitors in the Premier League, the left-footed winger is destined to sever ties with his current employers, with English clubs including; Aston Villa, AFC Bournemouth, Fulham FC and Brentford FC all believed to be closely monitoring his situation at Leicester ahead of the summer window.

According to Football lnsider, Everton boss David Moyes is keen on bolstering his squad with the acquisition of the 22-year-old, but faces a stiff competition from league rivals Sunderland for his potential signing ahead of the 2026-27 football season.

The report further stated that Leicester could be forced to sell their prized jewel for a fee around £20 million if they end up being relegated to the League One at the end of the season.

Despite the Foxes struggles this term, Fatawu has proven to be the focal point at the King Power Stadium after taking in 41 appearances by netting 9 times and setting up another 7 for the former elite division Champions across all competitions in this ongoing campaign.

He currently boasts of 27 caps with the Ghana national football team, the Black Stars with 3 goals to his name so far on the international stage.

And with the 2026 FIFA World Cup on the horizon, Ghana would hope to have him on top form before they head for the global football event in the United States, Canada and Mexico in June this year.
