The 23-year-old lateral defender of Ghanaian origin has completed his switch to the German lower division side in the ongoing transfer window
German-born Ghanaian left-back Derrick Kohn has joined Bundesliga 2 side Hannover 96 from Dutch Eredivisie side Willem Il this summer.
The talented fullback joins the HDI Arena outfit on a three-year deal after passing his mandatory medical tests earlier today in Hannover.
According to the 'Die Rotten', the ex-Bayern Munich youngster will make his outing in a tournament scheduled to take place on Saturday in Osnabruck after which he would head to 96 training camp in Rotenburg an der Wümme to begin life with his side on Tuesday.
"96 is a club that you associate with as a footballer in Germany and that has now embarked on an exciting path. I had good discussions, the game idea suits me perfectly. I have the feeling that I can contribute myself and my strengths here, but I can also develop further and learn a lot. The anticipation is enormous," Kohn told the club's official website.
Sporting director Marcus Mann added this on his outfit communications network: "Derrick is an extremely athletic player who understands his role on the left side of defense with an offensive orientation and a lot of forward drive. In the past two years he has collected over 60 first division appearances in the Netherlands. Nevertheless, he is He's still young at 23 and has a lot of potential. Our goal is for him to get used to German football again as quickly as possible and to integrate into our team."
Derrick featured in 31 league games for Willem Il in the just ended 21/22 football season.
Born in Hamburg, he is still eligible to switch allegiance to represent Ghana at the international level despite playing for the Germany U19 national youth team.
