Italy-born Ghanaian striker Martin Boakye has completed a move to Turkish First League side Boluspor during the summer transfer window.
The 30-year-old forward, who recently parted ways with Thai giants Buriram United, has signed a one-year contract as Boluspor look to strengthen their attack for a promotion push to the Süper Lig this season.
Announcing his arrival, the club highlighted Boakye’s extensive career across multiple continents. Born on February 10, 1995, in Valdagno, Italy, he began his youth career with Ponte dei Nori and Solesinese before turning professional in 2016 with Kitzbühel in Austria. He later featured for Hohenems, returned to Kitzbühel, and went on to play for Jeunesse Esch in Luxembourg.
His career has since taken him to Slaven Belupo in Croatia (2020), Andijon and AGMK in Uzbekistan (2021), Qingdao Hainiu in the Chinese Super League (2024), and most recently Buriram United in Thailand. During the 2024/25 season, Boakye enjoyed a remarkable campaign with Buriram, winning the Thai League, ASEAN Club Championship, Thailand Cup, and Thailand League Cup.
Boakye made his Boluspor debut in Sunday’s league opener against Vanspor FK, playing in a 3-2 home defeat. With his wealth of experience and proven scoring ability, the former Slaven Belupo striker is expected to play a key role in Boluspor’s quest for top-flight football.
