Ghanaian forward Malik Abubakari is reportedly on his way out of Lyngby Boldklub, just a year after joining the northern Copenhagen club.
The 25-year-old, known for his blistering pace and raw power up front, has struggled to fully stamp his authority in Denmark, despite flashes of brilliance that teased his potential.
Kickgh.com understands that the 'Royal Blues' and the player have agreed to go their separate ways, with Abubakari eyeing a fresh start and possibly a return to top form.
Abubakari, who was once hailed as a future Black Stars asset, has had a nomadic career across Europe, featuring for the likes of HJK Helsinki, Malmö FF, and Casa Pia, before landing in Lyngby. But his time in the Nordic outfit has been a mixed bag, as he encountered moments of sharp finishing offset by inconsistency and injuries.
With his contract still intact as he still has two more years before its end, Abubakari is now assessing his options. Clubs in Sweden, Portugal, Belgium, and even Ghana are believed to be circling, with scouts tracking his next move closely.
Lyngby have remained tight-lipped, but an official announcement is expected in the coming days.
As the summer window heats up, one thing is clear: Malik Abubakari is back on the market and he’s hungry to secure a move, and remind the football world of what he can do.
