Ghana captain Jordan Ayew opened his season's goal-scoring account for Leicester City in a hard-fought away draw at Oxford United.
The Foxes managed to secure a 2-2 draw with Oxford United in the English Championship, having played over sixty-five minutes as a manless side after Aaron Ramsey was shown a red card on his Leicester debut.
A 9th-minute Will Lankshear tap-in finish for the home side had already been cancelled out by a gift of an equaliser for Jordan Ayew in the 13th minute of the game before Barnsley loanee Ramsey was sent off ten minutes later for a reckless challenge on Filip Krastev.
A header from Ben Davies that deflected off Boubakary Soumare for an own goal restored Oxford's lead just before the break, but half-time substitute Pereira was quick to make an impact as he found the bottom corner with a 55th-minute equaliser.
Ayew enjoyed 89 minutes of the game before he was substituted, while his compatriot, Abdul Fatawu Issahaku, who bagged an assist, lasted for 75 minutes in Leicester City's draw against Oxford United.
The 33-year-old returned from the international break in excellent form after scoring in Ghana's draw with Chad during the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers last week. He also assisted in the 1-0 home win over Mali to edge closer to fifth World Cup qualification.
Ayew has featured in all five Championship games for the Foxes with a goal to his credit in the ongoing season's campaign.
