French-born Mali legend, Frederic Kanoute has heaped praises on Ghanaian international Kudus Mohammed and strongly feels he has the potential to win the African footballer of the year award.

Both players all featured for West Ham United but Kanoute subsequently joined Tottenham Hotspur, Sevilla and other clubs and was also adjudged Africa's best player in 2007.

Kudus, who just joined the Hammers last summer, walked in so quickly to become a mainstay for manager David Moyes and is playing like he's been at the London Olympic Stadium for years.

The 23-year-old has currently scored 13 goals and created 4; that's 17-goal involvements so far in the ongoing campaign and is hoping to increase the tally until the season ends.

Speaking in a recent interview, Kanoute has strongly advocated for the Right to Dream graduate and stated he stand a chance of winning the prestigious award with the kind of talent he is having.

He is really really talented. He has everything, he has strength, running forwards, he can play different positions. Still quite young and I think he is one of the most exciting African players around these days. So yes, he definitely has a chance for me," said Kanoute on the Irons Podcast.

Frederic Kanoute during his time with East Londoners, netted 27 goals in 76 appearances.
