The German second division outfit have announced the capturing of the 30-year-old defender of Ghanaian origin from their fellow league rivals in this summer transfer window
German-born Ghanaian defender Jan Gyamerah has joined 2. Bundesliga club SV Elversberg from FC Kaiserslautern on a two-year contract, the club have confirmed.
The former Hamburger SV right-back is teaming up with the URSAPHARM-Arena campaigners on a permanent basis as his deal with The Red Devils is due to expire on June 30, 2025.
An excerpt of a statement over the signing of the experienced lateral defender read: ''With the signing of Jan Gyamerah, SV Elversberg's defense receives further reinforcements. The 30-year-old full-back moves from 1. FC Kaiserslautern to Elversberg in the 2. Bundesliga and signs a two-year contract with Kaiserlinde until summer 2027.''
Gyamerah said right after sealing his transfer move to his new employers via the club's official website: ''SV Elversberg has shown in recent years that you can achieve a lot with clear ideas and team spirit. For me, the move is the right step at the right time – I'm looking forward to becoming part of this journey and starting the new season together with the team."
Sporting director Ole Book added: ''Jan has proven his footballing prowess and flexibility over the years, and with his positive attitude, he will also be an asset to the dressing room. We are delighted to welcome him to Elversberg.''
Having played for Germany U17 & U18 national youth teams, the Berlin-born full-back still remains eligible to represent Ghana on the international stage.
