The defender of Ghanaian parentage has joined the German Fourth-Tier outfit in this current campaign
German-born Ghanaian defender Aaron Manu has completed his move to German Regionalliga Südwest side TSV Steinbach Haiger in an undisclosed period of contract, the club have confirmed.
The 24-year-old centre-back is joining the lower division outfit on a free transfer after terminating his contract with 3.Liga side Rot-Weiß Essen earlier today.
Announcing the deal, the Steinbach-based club have said via their club's official website: "Aaron Manu is moving from third division club Rot-Weiß Essen to TSV Steinbach Haiger. The defender will wear the number 4 for the regional league football club."
The ex-FC Nürnberg U19 youth man had this to tell his new employers right after appending his signature to the deal: "I'm really looking forward to the coming time here in Steinbach and I would like to thank everyone involved for the great cooperation. I can hardly wait to be on the pitch with the boys and give everything for success. The club's ambitious goals coincide with mine and I am firmly convinced that I will develop both athletically and personally here in order to take the next steps with the team."
Sporting director Giuseppe Lepore added: "Aaron is very good in tackling and is a resolute central defender who, with his height of 1.94 m, is a strong header. During his time in Erfurt, Aaron became a crowd favorite thanks to his great commitment and contributed significantly to the positive sporting development. Aaron will strengthen our defense and is also a real asset to our team with his personality structure."
Given his Ghanaian heritage, Manu remains eligible to represent Ghana at the international level.
