The German heavyweights have landed the services of the talented teenage sensation of Ghanaian descent from the English giants on a long-term deal this summer
Bundesliga club Bayer Leverkusen have signed German-born Ghanaian teen Farid Alfa-Ruprecht from Premier League giants Manchester City on a five-year contract, the club have confirmed.
The 19-year-old budding winger is joining the BayArena campaigners from the U21 side of the English outfit.
An official confirmation over his capturing read: "Bayer 04 Leverkusen have completed the signing of winger Farid Alfa-Ruprecht. The 19-year-old German youth international joins from the U21 side of English giants Manchester City. His contract in Leverkusen is set to run until 30 June 2030."
The Ghana-prospect youngster said to his club's official website: "Leverkusen are a top club with great appeal. I will repay the faith shown in me and do everything for the chance to wear the Bayer shirt."
Sporting director Kim Falkenberg added: "Farid Alfa-Ruprecht has caught the eye as a winger in the English U21 league," said Bayer 04 managing director sport Simon Rolfes. "An impressive goalscoring rate, tremendous speed and great footballing talent make him a highly interesting candidate for our first team. We see clear potential in Farid to become an important player for Bayer 04 in the future."
It is believed that Man City will have a 40% sell-on clause in their contract with the German outfit over the sale of the ex-Hamburger SV youth man this summer.
Given his Ghanaian heritage, the promising wonderkid still remains fit to play for Ghana on the international stage after featuring for the Germany U16, U17 & U18 national youth teams.
