The 20-year-old forward is staging a return to his former employers until the end of the ongoing Danish lower division football campaign
Ghanaian youngster Richmond Gyamfi has rejoined Danish 1st Division side Hobro IK from Superligaen outfit Aarhus GF until the end of the 2024-25 season, the club have confirmed.
The centre-forward, who joined the Danish Superligaen side during the summer transfer window, has found game time hard to come by since joining the Ceres Park campaigners so far this term.
''Hobro IK has agreed with AGF on a loan agreement for striker Richmond Gyamfi for the remainder of the current season,'' an excerpt of an official statement over the loan deal read.
Right after sealing his loan deal, the 20-year-old had this to tell his new side via the club's official website: ''I owe Hobro IK a lot and I am happy that I will be representing this club again. A club that I quickly developed a big heart for and a place where I feel safe and at home. We have had many good experiences together at DS Arena and I hope that I can contribute to our achieving even more together.''
Club's sporting director Lars Justesen commented on recapturing his former star forward over his loan services: ''We are looking forward to seeing Richmond shine at the DS Arena again, even if it is for a short while. We are not usually the biggest supporters of renting players, but Richmond is a completely unique case for us and when an opportunity like this arises, short-term or not, we naturally take it. I don't think there is anyone in the NordicBet Ligaen or Hobro IK who doubts Richmond's talent and a player of that caliber, who also has a heart for Hobro IK, we always welcome.''
''We have had many good meetings with AGF, where we have discussed what the best short-term plan is for Richmond and we quickly agreed that playing minutes were important. We hope that we can help unlock the enormous potential that Richmond possesses, so that he is ready to burn the 3F Superliga for AGF from the summer.''
Before making his transfer move to the DS Arena outfit this January, Gyamfi figured in 4 league games for AGF in this current Danish top-flight season.
He is yet to earn his international cap with the Ghana men's senior national team, the Black Stars at the international level.
