Ghana Black Stars head coach, Otto Addo has already embarked on a mission to engage with players of the senior national team and those eligible to be handed call ups.
In an unannounced visit to England, Addo met with Watford's midfield sensation Pierre Dwomoh, commending him for his stellar performances and reassuring him of dolling out a call up to him if the need be in his quest to restore Ghana’s footballing glory.
Dwomoh, born in Ghent, Belgium and is of Ghanaian descent has played internationally for Belgium at all their youth levels.
The Black Stars coach is using these visits to earn back trust and mentally prepare his squad for next month’s World Cup qualifiers.
He has already visited Jerome Opoku at his Turkish club, Istanbul Basaksehir, and travelled to London to check on team captain Thomas Partey, where he also engaged with Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta.
Addo recently met AS Monaco centre-back, Mohammed Salisu, in the French principality, holding constructive discussions with both the player and his coach, Adolf ‘Adi’ Hutter
Addo is expected to continue his tour across Europe, meeting other key Black Stars players to boost their confidence before returning to Ghana.
Ghana failed to qualify for the Afcon 2025 scheduled to kick off later this year. They will now focus on the World Cup qualifiers set to resume in March, the Black Stars are second in Group I with nine points - Ghana will take on Chad and Madagascar.
