The Turkish giants have said the Ghanaian defender rejected the advances of suitors during the summer transfer window

Ghana international defender Daniel Amartey turned down seven clubs that were interested in his services this summer, according to Beşiktaş SK General Secretary Kaan Şakul.

The Istanbul-based club had wanted to move him on to other interested suitors, but the 29-year-old dragged his feet over the transfer decision as he wanted a January transfer move instead.

With seven offers so far received for his services, those in charge of the Beşiktaş Stadium have said none of the bids have been accepted by the former Leicester City rearguard, with Dubai side Al-Shabab coming close to landing him among their competitors over his pursuit.

Kaan Şakul is quoted as saying by Ajansspor: "So far, 7 written offers have been received for Daniel Amartey. We have reached an agreement with Al-Shabab. The player would earn more than he would earn here. He said okay, we bought his plane ticket, but he gave up. We asked him why, he said, 'I don't want to play in Dubai.''

He continued: " We last met with Eyüpspor, but the player did not accept this today either. Finally, we said let's give him what he will get for 1 year. He said okay, but he just sent a message saying he gave up. He said he wants to go in January."

Al Shabab Ahlul, FC Arouca, Eyupspor, Al Orobah, Al Kholood and Al Fahya are said to be the clubs that have tabled an official bid for his signature in this current campaign.

His deal with the Turkish giants will expire in June 2026 and as per his transfermarkt valuation, suitors must table an amount of €5m to be able to land him this summer.

He's so far been cap-tied 55 times by the Ghana men's senior national team, the Black Stars at the international level.
