The experienced Ghanaian forward would be severing ties with the Dutch second-tier side next month, with his current deal set to be cut short ahead of the summer
Dutch Eerste Divisie side FC Volendam have said they will part company with Dutch-born Ghanaian striker Elvis Manu on February 1, 2025.
The 31-year-old former Feyenoord attacker is going to have his current deal which is set to expire in June this year annulled given his uninspiring performances at the Kras Stadion so far this season.
According to Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf, the former Brighton & Hove Albion frontman has already had his contract terminated with immediate effect.
An official confirmation over Manu's departure read: ''FC Volendam and Elvis Manu (31) will part ways as of February 1. This will give the attacker the opportunity to look for a new club.''
''Manu gets the chance to find another challenge in this transfer period and goes looking for it. Manu had a contract until next summer, during which he had the possibility to leave on a free transfer during this period.''
''The 31-year-old striker made his debut on October 4 against Vitesse. He eventually played seven matches. Against FC Den Bosch, Manu scored the winning 3-2.''
''FC Volendam thanks Elvis for his commitment to the club and wishes him every success in the rest of his career.''
He has so far netted one goal in 6 league games for FC Volendam in this ongoing Keuken Kampioen Divisie 2024-25 football season.
Since bursting onto the football scene in his football career, Manu has had stints with clubs such as; Excelsior, SC Cambuur, Brighton & Hove Albion, Huddersfield Town, Go Ahead Eagles, Genclerbirligi, Akhisar Belediyespor, Beijing Renhe, PFK Ludogorets, Wisla Krakow, Botev Plovdiv, FC Universitatea Cluj-Napoca and FC Groningen across the globe.
Given his Ghanaian root, he's still eligible to play for Ghana at the international level albeit featuring for the Netherlands national youth teams.
