Ghanaian goalkeeper Danlad Ibrahim has expressed strong confidence in the Black Stars ahead of the upcoming 2026 World Cup, stressing that the team has what it takes to make a major statement at the Mundial.
Danlad, who now plays for Ethiopian Coffee SC, is enjoying a new challenge in the Ethiopian topflight after ending his eight-year spell with Asante Kotoko SC - a period that included loan stints with Berekum Chelsea and King Faisal Babies.
The 23-year-old has gone through the ranks very well having represented Ghana at youth level, where he’s featured for the Black Starlets, Black Satellites, Black Meteors and Black Stars all at major tournaments.
With the Black Stars set to regroup later this month, the enterprising goalie called for unity and national backing and believes the team can deliver if the country stands firmly behind them at the 2026 World Cup.
“Every qualified team has the potential to make history, and Ghana is no different. The team just needs our support, prayers, and encouragement for every player who earns a spot in the final squad.
“I am very confident that the team will make both Ghana and themselves proud”, he told 3Sports.
Danlad Ibrahim was part of the only two home-based players that made the Black Stars squad for the 2022 FIFA World Cup staged in Qatar.
