Black Princesses head coach, Yussif Basigi has admitted playing at the world stage is always difficult but are hoping to break their long standing hoodoo of not being able to cross the group phase.

The Princesses early this year sealed qualification to their seventh consecutive FIFA World Cup with a stunning performance in three qualifying rounds; having sent out countries like Guinea-Bissau, Eswatini and wrapped up with Senegal.

The team opened camp last Thursday, June 27, with 35 players in Cape Coast, and will continue with series of training sessions until the final squad is selected for the huge challenge at world stage.

Speaking in an interview, the experienced tactician said they just started preparations and is hoping to have his girls in the right shape and frame of mind ahead of the Mundial.

He further noted that, they will play their hearts out to ensure they surpass the group stages this time around.

"We just started training yesterday and we know what it takes. We have never advanced from the group stage so it is a big task for us to work very hard this time around."

Ghana have been drawn in Group E alongside heavyweights Japan, New Zealand and Austria.

The FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup will commence from August 31, to September 22, 2024.
