The Ghana Football Association (GFA) is set unveil a deal worth $2 million with a new broadcasting company for Ghana Premier League, with the deal set to take effect from the 2025–26 season.
The Ghana Premier League has been without a television broadcast partner since the commencement of the 2024/25 season following the expiration of GFA's contract with StarTimes TV.
According to close source at the Ghana FA, the new broadcasting company has reached an agreement worth $2 million to telecast the Ghana Premier League for the next two seasons.
The StarTimes deal, which also covered the FA Cup and the Women’s Premier League, was not renewed due to unresolved financial issues.
StarTimes owes the Premier League clubs $180,000 of the $950,000 it owes the GFA. Each team was entitled to $30,000 every season under the terms of the prior arrangement.
Although StarTimes made the first two payments, the business was unable to meet the rest of its financial obligations.
The GFA is anticipated to make the official announcement of the new broadcaster as the current 2024–2025 season draws to a close next month.
