Ahead of the international friendly against Uganda, Ghana's coach, Otto Addo, has commended the positive attitude displayed by his players during the team's preparations.
The Black Stars have been training diligently in Marrakesh during March's international break, with Addo focused on assembling a formidable team for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers in June.
Following his reappointment as coach earlier in the month, Addo is determined to rejuvenate the fortunes of the Black Stars, especially after their disappointing performance in the Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast. To strengthen the squad, Addo invited several new players after the withdrawal of key players such as Thomas Partey, Inaki Williams, and Mohammed Kudus for the friendlies.
Speaking about the new additions to the team, Addo expressed his satisfaction with their performance, stating, "Not really impressed but may be surprised a little bit. I didn’t expect this, especially with the young players playing at a high level, really, really good." He highlighted the importance of integrating young talent into the squad, emphasizing the positive impact it has on the team's development.
Addo emphasized the significance of nurturing young talent and preparing for the future of Ghanaian football. He believes that the presence of talented young players motivates the established players to elevate their performance levels. Addo sees the competition within the squad as a driving force for improvement and growth.
"I think we made a good choice in bringing them into the camp. We are already preparing for the future and this is really, really good to see that the young guys coming up are knocking on the door to enter the national team," Addo remarked. He urged the experienced players to remain vigilant and focused, as the emergence of young talent adds a new dimension to the team dynamics.
Addo's emphasis on fostering a competitive environment reflects his commitment to ensuring the success and longevity of the Black Stars. By nurturing young talent and integrating them into the squad, Addo aims to build a strong foundation for future success.
As the team gears up for the friendly against Uganda, Addo's positive assessment of the players' attitude bodes well for their performance on the field. With determination and unity, the Black Stars are poised to showcase their strength and resilience against their opponents. Addo's leadership and vision for the team are instrumental in shaping the future of Ghanaian football.
