Ghana's coach, Otto Addo, is banking on the return of Thomas Partey, Mohammed Kudus, Inaki Williams, and Alexander Djiku to bolster the team's stability ahead of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers in June.
Despite the quartet's absence from recent friendlies against Nigeria and Uganda due to various reasons, Addo remains optimistic about their contributions in the upcoming qualifiers against Mali and the Central African Republic.
In an interview with the FA media, Addo emphasized the significance of having Partey, Kudus, Djiku, and Inaki Williams back in the squad, highlighting their potential to enhance the team's performance.
“It's going to be tough; this is for sure, nothing easy. Buy when I see the boys it really, really gives me big, big hopes that what we did against Nigeria especially in the second half, we can do it against any opponent, I know”
“They have to be concentrated, they have to be smart. I am looking forward to the players who are coming back like Mohammed Kudus, Inaki Williams, Thomas Partey, Alexander Djiku, they will give the team more stability and we will be best prepared” he said.
Having guided the Black Stars to qualification for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, where they narrowly edged out Nigeria in the playoff, Addo aims to replicate that success and secure another spot on football's grandest stage.
