Award winning Ghanaian artiste, Livingston Etse Satekla, famously known in the Showbiz as 'Stonebwoy', has expressed a huge dissatisfaction towards the Black Stars inability to qualify for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations stating he is still in disbelief.
For the first time since 2004, twenty years now, the four-time African champions won't be at the biggest football competition on the continent having finished at the bottom of Group F with just three points in the qualifiers.
Ghana out of six matches in the qualifying series, failed to win any and that's the first time ever, having lost three and drawn three - with two of those defeats astonishingly recorded on home soil.
This sparked a wide range of discussions filled with divided opinions among the Ghanaian football fans with majority calling for the jettisoning of head coach Otto Addo but the latter had his job still secured after Executive Council of the Ghana FA met in the midweek.
Lots of former footballers and pundits have also expressed grievances towards this issue and the latest to join is Ghana's five-time Reggae-Dancehall Artiste winner, Stonebwoy who admitted he was very shocked and can't imagine an AFCON without giants like Ghana.
He further advised things should be put into the right place subsequently so the Black Stars can rise back to the top again in an interview on Asempa Sports;
"Last AFCON, I was there and I witnessed it, and you can tell I love and enjoyed it. It’s sad. I can’t believe it. I’m still in disbelief, but that is the reality. This tells you that we have things to work on with the team and the Ghana Football Association.
“I hope that this is taken care of so that next time we make it. At least the African Cup, Ghana has always had a beautiful team to watch, so I don’t know what the world will be watching now without Ghana. I know they will miss the Ghana team, but it’s unfortunate,” expressed the reigning VGMAs Artist of the Year in an interview with Asempa Sports.
Stonebwoy just recently was honoured with the coveted Africa Man of the Year award at the EMY Africa Awards held on November 24, at the Grand Arena, Accra.
