Former Ghana international, Isaac Vorsah has stressed the need for the Black Stars team to elevate their performance as they press in securing qualification to the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Ghana's Black Stars defeated Chad 5-0, and then continued with a 3-0 victory over Madagascar to climb to the top of Group I of the qualifying series last month (March).
The scintillating victories threw the team in an ecstatic mood, having endured a torrid season in 2024.
Touching on the Black Stars performance, the former TSG Hoffenheim centre-back urged the players to remain focused and committed, and he also plunk for support for the GFA's quest in building up the team and underpinning a firm footing that will guarantee lasting progress.
"We have to work harder, as we want to qualify. We have qualified already for me but we have to do the work well, so that we can also go and watch some," Vorsah said.
"So that we can be happy that as Ghanaians we have also come for the world cup."
Vorsah was a key figure in the Black Stars team during his playing days. He featured in four major international tournaments including three Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in 2010, 2012, and 2013.
He was named in Ghana's 23-man squad for the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa and played in the opener before an injury kept him out of the following matches, but he returned from injury in time to play Ghana's final match of the tournament, the quarter-final.
