GFA President Kurt Okraku's direct competitor, George Afriyie has lashed out on the former stating he's got the mentality of not willing to resign from the big seat despite being very shambolic since assuming office in 2019.

Kurt Okraku's administration celebrated five years leading Ghana football last Friday and there were divided opinions in the indigenous media as to whether he's brought changes to the game or not.

However, majority feel the current Ghana FA since coming into office, haven't done anything extraordinary to help patch up the cracks in our football instead they have even lowered the standard.

Most of these comments were backed by the quality of our local league and also the performance of our senior national team - Black Stars - who have been very abysmal and average at major tournaments and now in the qualifiers as well.

There has been a strong call from some section of the football fans for Kurt Okraku to step down as GFA boss despite having three years left in his second tenure but George Afriyie, who has been his direct competitor in the two elections, doesn't see that happening reason he hasn't spoken yet on that.

"I’m saying that elsewhere is that not what is done if you fail to deliver you just resign and it’s done but it’s not typical in a Ghanaian DNA so for that me I know that will not happen so that’s why I will not even bother with my time to call him to resign because he won’t resign, he told Citi Sports.

"I mean for them and those in administration and they think that they are doing very very very well but people like Mr Kudjoe Fianoo have been around for so many years and knows how Ghana football has been run over the years and that if Mr Fianoo says Kurt Okraku has failed, that’s a fact."

The former GFA vice president is looking forward to leading Ghana football in future having contested in the previous two elections and has high hopes of elevating it to the highest echelon.
