Former Ghanaian international, Malik Jabir has stated emphatically clear that, Ghana football is currently dead and needs serious attention for revival having made reference to the country's recent poor performances at the Africa Cup of Nations.
After a disastrous AFCON campaign in Cameroon in 2021, the Black Stars recorded another embarrassing one just recently in Cote D'Ivoire having failed to win a game and also progress from the group phase
The recent poor display has sparked so much fury with some journalists and concerned football fans claiming the Ghanaian game is dead and even organized a demonstration last week to that effect.
Giving his take on the recent happenings, Malik Jabir, who formerly played for both Black Stars and Kotoko, shares the same sentiment that the football is dead and needs serious attention. He told Kumasi-based Akoma FM;
"Ghana has failed to defeat an African team three times in a row, and people expect us to chant praises? That is not correct.
"We need to return to youth football, rebuild the U17, U20, and U23 teams, and ensure a proper transition for them, as Senegal and Mali have done.
"This will result in a standardized team for the Black Stars. We shouldn't be telling ourselves that football isn't dead when we can't even win a single game in the Afcon at Cameroon and Ivory Coast", he concluded
